Welcome to the place where there’s only ONE thing worth talking about: How to Use Your iPhone as a Comic Book Reader!

If this is your first visit, please click on the iPhone
in the right-hand margin >>> for the introduction!

As soon as I got my new iPhone 3G, I wanted to find a way to use it as a comic book reader…but it wasn’t as easy as I thought it would be!

I’ve spent a lot of time banging my head against the web trying to find a good ebook and comic book reader application for the iPhone, so I figured I ought to share the fruits of my searching labors for anybody else that’s looking for the same thing.

The iPhone has just started allowing developers to make and sell apps thru the iTunes store, so I see this as an ongoing quest. I’m sure that there’ll be a lot of cool applications coming down the pike and into my iPhone, and I’ll be writing about everything I find.

So keep checking back to see what’s new in the world of iPhone comic book readers…leave some comments to tell me what you’ve found…and take a look at my classic comic book blog at http://CartoonSNAP.blogspot.com

Just found your site — brilliant!. I have two mobile comic sites that may be of interest: http://rokcomics.ning.com - community group for Mobile Comic Creators - and http://downthetubesmobilecomics.blogspot.com - more about mobile comics news. Hope they’re of interest. I’ve added your RSS feed to the Forum.

Hi there iPhoneComicBookReader, I am Polyna, part of a small creative studio in Italy.
I’d like to make you aware of a new comic we are about to publish on the iPhone’s American App Store, that is “A Separate World”. At the heart of it there’s a compelling story and (we hope) good drawings.
What I like to emphasize though is that ASW is not a direct port of a comic on the iPhone, but it’s a new breed of ‘enhanced comics’ which includes still images, animated videos and some interactivity, in the form of easter eggs and character profiles, within the single pictures. Of course also the pictures, balloons and such are explicitely made for the iPhone from the ground up.

If you are interested in this project and want to write a post about our app, here’s some material to begin with:
        Appstore Link: http://itunes.apple.com/WebObj.....5&mt=8
        Photos and text materials: http://www.aseparateworld.com/blogger_eng.zip
        Youtube teaser: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KqgFldra0zE
Youtube - Application in action: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KJO_Cbducvw
        Website: http://www.aseparateworld.com

The comic is priced at 0,79 € but if you want to try it out for free there’s a lite version, and we can share a code for a free download, of course.

Thanks in advance for whatever help you can give us in getting the comic known.
If you do a review or post about us, don’t forget to share the link so we can add it to the iTunes description and our website!

        Greetings,
        Polyna

          Hello Sherm,

Just wanted to drop my comment in here: my graphic novel app, The Carrier, was just released. It’s a complete original graphic novel published exclusively on the iPhone — I think it’s right up your alley.

To check out details about the app and all other info you might want to know, go to our site at http://www.carriercomicbook.com

Or our App Store page at http://www.carriercomicbook.com/appstore

          Thanks! Best regards,

I love ComicBookLover for the Mac! It has the best interface of all the comic readers out there. I would try the iPhone version, but I don’t have wifi to manage the transfers, and I usually dont have access to my Mac.
